The Different Color of Diamonds - Yellow

What’s the deal with yellow diamonds? Do you think that they are pretty or would you rather just stay away from them? The Array of Coloring

Like other colors, the yellow diamond can range anywhere from a faint, light coloring to a darker, more intense coloring. The misconception is that yellow is not worth as much as white diamonds. This is not true for dark yellow diamonds. This type of diamond is one that is very rare, and they are expensive. It is very difficult to find a dark yellow diamond that is natural. A lot of times dark yellows will be lab improved and made a bit darker. Faint yellow diamonds are not as expensive or rare, and they are more natural in coloring. The rarity of the dark yellows are why these are not as highly valued as other type of diamonds.

The Time and Place of the Yellows

If it is a yellow diamonds then the odds are that it was found in Africa. South Africa is especially known for their yellow diamonds, having been the location of some of the biggest, more famous yellows found. In the past thirty years most of these famous yellow diamonds were found. As of late, however, a major number of yellow diamonds have been found in an argyle mine located in Australia. Yellow diamonds have been known to pop up in locations where they have not been expected.
